Pleuel und Kolben für den Alfa 33 Motor. Für den 4 Zylinder Boxermotor des Alfa 33, 16V, hat Tomforde-Engineering eine neue Pleuel/Kolben Baugruppe für den Rennsport entwickelt. In Zusammenarbeit mit einem Kunden aus der internationalen Rallye- Cross Szene ist es uns gelungen, folgende Anforderungen zu erfüllen: • Gewichtsersparnis um 25 % im Vergleich zur Serie, um den anfälligen Kurbeltrieb zu entlasten und dauerhaft höchste Drehzahlen zur ermöglichen. • Anhebung des Hubraums auf knapp 1,8 Liter (reglementbedingt) • Verdichtungserhöhung auf 11:1 • Einfache Pleuelmontage ohne Modifikation des Kurbelgehäuses Im Detail wurde das Pleuel um 4mm verlängert, um die Seitenführungskräfte im Zylinder zu reduzieren und den 89mm Schmiedekolben deutlich leichter und kompakter zu gestalten. Das Pleuel ist außerdem im H-Schaft Design ausgeführt und sorgt damit für höchste Stabilität bei extremen Verbrennungsdrücken. Die kompakte Bauform im Bereich der Pleuelverschraubung ermöglicht den Einbau in das Kurbelgehäuse ohne dessen Modifikation. Connecting rods and forged pistons for the Alfa 33 engine For the 4 cylinder, 16V, boxer engine of Alfa Romeo’s type 33 , Tomforde Engineering has developed a new Piston/connecting-rod assembly for race application. Together with a customer from the international Rallye-Cross scene we have been able to accomplish following requirements: - Weight reduction of 25% compared to original parts, which reduces the loads on the cranc bearings significantly - Increase of capacity up to 1.8 Litre - Compression ratio of 11:1 - Simple installation without crankcase modifications In detail, the connecting-rod is designed 4mm longer than stock to reduce internal friction and to achieve a compact and light 89mm forged piston. Further the connecting rod has a H – profile beam which gives the best strength at maximum combustion pressures. The big end has close positioned screws and this does not required any crankcase modification when the connecting-rod will be installed. The components are manfactured exclusive for Tomforde Engineering from experience producers and now we are offering both to other Alfa 33 racers.
